iPhone 6S In Rose Gold Leaked, Some Say It’s Fake

Updated on

In the run up to Apple’s rumored September 9 iPhone 6S launch event, the Web is flooded with a series of leaks and rumors about the new device. Now new images of the iPhone 6S in rose gold have surfaced online. The leak comes from Chinese blog 996.com, which shows a pink-colored iPhone 6S in the box. You can also see an Apple Store bag in the background.

Why these iPhone 6S images might be fake

Another leak comes from Daliulian.net. In terms of design, the iPhone 6S looks similar to the current flagship iPhone 6. Notably, these images first appeared in March 2015, but started spreading like wildfire only this week. That is one of the reasons Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac has questioned the authenticity of the leaked images. Another reason is that the rose gold looks too pink in many of the photos, suggesting that they might be fake. Take these images with a grain of salt.

However, Gurman doesn’t rule out the possibility of Apple launching a rose gold iPhone 6S. The Cupertino-based tech giant had brought the gold color option with the previous ‘S’ iPhone model. Going by a number of reports, Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus on September 9. Pre-orders are widely expected to begin on Sept.11, with the devices arriving in stores a week later on Friday, Sept.18.

iPhone 6S reservations begin in Europe

German carrier Deutsche Telekom has started accepting reservations for the next-gen iPhones. Vodafone Germany is also issuing interest forms for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Reports coming out of Japan also suggest the same release timeline. Both the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will feature the Force Touch technology that first debuted with Apple Watch. The new iPhones will sport 2GB RAM, 12-megapixel main camera, and A9 processor.

Another report from GforGames claims that Apple is working on a new 5-inch iPhone 6C that may be unveiled alongside the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus next month. Earlier this month, supply chain sources revealed that the iPhone 6C won’t arrive until the second quarter of 2016. But well-known tipster Evan Blass claimed last week that Apple may launch 6C as well next month.
