Galaxy Note Edge Coming To US Cellular And Verizon

Updated on

Samsung has already launched its “limited edition” Galaxy Note Edge on AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. Now, the phone with curved display is coming to US Cellular and Verizon. Starting January 7, US Cellular will start offering the Galaxy Note Edge for $400 on a two-year contract. That’s definitely not cheap. Samsung is charging a super-premium price, largely due to its edgy design where the edge display works as a second screen.

Galaxy Note Edge’s high price tag could turn off some buyers

You can also buy it off-contract for $820. US Cellular also allows you to spread it over 20 monthly installments of $41. US Cellular said that buyers will be able to purchase the phone both online and in-store. The phone’s separate interface appeals to early adopters of curved screen devices. The Korean electronics giant’s futuristic smartphone is not for everyone. And its high price could turn off even some interested people.

Now, Verizon is the only major U.S. carrier that is still not offering the Galaxy Note Edge. Phandroid has learned from a “reliable source” that Verizon will start offering Samsung’s sloped phone on January 8. Phandroid said that the information comes from a source that has provided accurate information time and again. Verizon will offer the device for $399 on a two-year contract. The carrier will reportedly sell the Galaxy Note Edge at $799 off-contract or $33.32 on its Edge program.

Verizon has not yet confirmed the report

Verizon is yet to officially confirm the report. AT&T currently has the Note Edge up for grabs at $399 on-contract. Sprint offers it for $429 on a two-year contract, while T-Mobile has set the price at $870 off-contract. The Galaxy Note Edge was announced at the IFA 2014 and went for sale in the U.S. on Nov.14. The device boasts of a 5.6-inch Quad HD display.

The Note Edge is packed with some impressive specs. It comes with a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3,000mAh battery, and 3GB RAM. The phone runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz interface out-of-the-box, and comes with S-Pen stylus. It has a 16-megapixel main camera, 3.7-MP front camera, and 32GB/64GB built-in storage with microSD support.
