iPhone 6: The Leaks Continue

Updated on

The closer we get to the official launch of the iPhone 6, the more anticipation for the phone builds up. The latest leak involves an interesting change in camera design.

Unique camera design could be star feature on iPhone 6

The leaked images purportedly come from an insider at Foxconn Technology Co., Ltd. (TPE:2354). The images include a sketch of the phone and live pics. These pictures show a smooth chassis with a protruding camera. Although there is not a whole lot of information involving the details behind the camera, it’s likely Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will feature an 8MP camera rather than a 13-megapixel or 16-megapixel camera. It could also feature optical image stabilization.

Before this recent leak, most of the iPhone 6 rumors involved display design. The most common report is the iPhone will come in two variants including 4.7 inch display and 5.5 inch display.

Tech 2 added the following in a recent blog post: “The rumours around the alleged iPhone 6 kick started with analysts predicting a 4.8-inch display for the next-gen Apple device late last year, backed by revelations from component suppliers. iOS 8 is expected to debut with the iPhone 6 and word is Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is betting big on health and fitness tracking features, and will come integrated with the Healthbook app. Reports also claim that iOS 8 wouldn’t be much different from iOS7 in terms of the UI and only has minor changes.”

Big expectations for iPhone 6

The iPhone is a key product for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), and every subsequent release is another chance for the tech giant to remind fans why the brand is still in the lead. Apple never fails to impress with cutting edge technology and modern design. It would be in Apple’s best interest to offer something not just revolutionary, but also unique to keep it different from top competitor Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930). With certain Android brands provide plenty of competition for Apple, this is still a brand with plenty of room to grow.
