3D Systems Printer Optimized For Dental Drill Guide Production

3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD), one of the leading providers of 3D printing centric design-to manufacturing solutions, announced that its 3D printer and proprietary VisiJet Stoneplast materials are now optimized for dental drill guide production.

Compatible with leading dental software modules

According to the company, the ProJet 3510 3D printer is compatible with leading dental software modules capable of outputting the open .stl file format for automated local or distributed manufacturing. The 3D printer Stoneplast dental materials are available in clear or plaster mode.

Cathy Lewis, chief marketing officer at 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) said, “Transitioning to digital workflows with 3D printing compatibility has brought a high-impact solution to the dental field. The ProJet 3510 MP and Stoneplast materials easily integrate with leading software modules enabling an integrated drill guide manufacturing solution.”

The company said its digital dental solutions and integrated dental drill guide 3D printing solutions were displayed at the LMT Lab Day event at the Sheraton Chicago last February 21-22, 2014.

Recent acquisition

3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) recently acquired Digital PlaySpace (DPS), a game design and digital play platform that combines 3D printed doll houses and community sharing to deliver a vivid 3D create-and make experience for children and their parents through its websites DigitalDollhouse.com and Dreamhouse Designer app on Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB).

According to the company, Digital PlaySpace allows users to create personalized toys including a playhouse using its cloud fulfillment service or Cube 3D printer. Jesyca Durchin, founder and CEO of DPS said 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDO is the perfect home for the growth of her company.  She said, “We are thrilled to integrate our virtual and actual play experiences directly into the 3DS Cubify platform. Our vision is to deliver a ‘3D PlaySpace’ for everyone….We designed Digital PlaySpace from the bottom-up for publishing flexibility and scalability.”

Stock downgraded

The stock price of 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) declined more than 6% to $75.40 per share at the time of this writing, around 12:42 P.M. in New York. The stock was downgraded from Buy to Underperform by Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) with a $66 price target.
