Paul Deneve, from French fashion house Saint Laurent (formerly known as YSL), is leaving the luxury label this fall. It’s reported that he’s leaving the fashion world for the tech industry. Reportedly, he’s leaving Saint Laurent for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).

Apple Inc. (AAPL) May Be Hiring Saint Laurent's Paul Deneve

Deneve has been in the fashion industry since 1997. He’s worked for Courreges, Nina Ricci, Lanvin, and YSL. He became president and chief executive officer for the latter company back in 2011. Before working in the fashion industry, Deneve worked for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in various sales and marketing positions. Recently, he’s also acted somewhat as a Silicon Valley advisor for startups.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) Looking For Luxury Brand Brilliance

One anonymous source reported to AppleInsider that Apple could hire Paul Deneve, as he has a lot of experience in the luxury market. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is a tech company that has already cornered the luxury market, and they may need another brilliant mind to help them remain in the lead. And since there is much speculation about Apple’s purported iWatch, it’s a definite possibility that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) would want to recruit someone with experience in a profitable luxury business.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has taken their search for a retail lead globally. The company’s former lead, John Browett, who was dismissed late last year, has yet to be replaced. Right now, the company’s vice president of finance, Jim Bean, is helping the company support  retail operations. Given Deneve’s experience with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and the luxury market, it’s not surprising to see why Apple would consider bringing him on board.

It’s crucial for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to stay on top of the market right now. The company has been losing ground thanks to competition from Android and  Samsung. In order to remain relevant, Apple needs to calculate their next move quickly. This could be their big move.
