Many people regularly clean-up their browsing and search history from the browser. This can be easily done and is very essential for protecting our privacy. But did you know that when searching for apps from the Start Screen, Windows 8 keeps track of all the searches that you perform?

If you would like to stop Windows 8 from keeping a track of all of your searches, or if you would like to disable search history, then here’s how you can do it.

Deleting or Disabling Windows 8 Search History

Step 1: Open the Charms bar by pointing your mouse to the top right of the screen and click on Settings. From here, click on the Change PC Settings from the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: The above step will open the PC settings screen. Go to the Search settings and click on the Delete History button to delete all of your search history.

Step 3: If you want to completely disable Windows 8 from saving your search history, then toggle the Let Windows save my searches as future search suggestions settings to Off. When you do this setting, the Delete history button will be disabled as Windows will now never keep a track of your history.

So go ahead, clean your search history in Windows 8 so that if one of your colleague uses your PC, he/she wouldn’t know what search you are performing.
