As per latest rumors, the Nexus 5’s release date is said to be on November 1st following an October 31st announcement, according to a well-known leaker.
Nexus 5 announcement date
For the past few days, sources have circulated tips that Google’s latest smartphone, the Nexus 5, was going to be announced by month’s end, and available on November 1st, which is also the same date Apple’s iPad Air is going to arrive in retail stores.
A Tweet by @evleaks, a well-known leaker, suggests the possible release date of Nexus 5, along with the above press image. The phone may come in two colors, namely black and white. When Nexus 4 was launched, it was only available in black for about seven months but then later, a white version was also launched, and it seems, as per @evleaks, that the company this time wants to release both color models during the launch.
Last week, Google mistakenly listed the Nexus 5 on its website, revealing many details about the smartphone. The 16GB Nexus 5 was priced at $349. The listing was pulled off the site when Google realized their mistake. Right now, even the Nexus 4 is out of stock on Google Play Store.
Along with the Nexus 5, Google will also be launching Android 4.4 KitKat. The new version of Android is said to be shipped with Nexus 5, and as we can see in the leaked rendering, it may come with a transparent notification bar, some new icons, and other tweaks.
Once the smartphone is announced, Google may start taking orders for the Nexus 5 on November 1st, and the company might offer-two day shipping so that we can get our hands on this phone as soon as we can. This month end definitely sounds exciting for Android lovers because of the launch of the all new Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat.
