Farallon Picks Stemline, Celladon Climb
Voltari Corp (NASDAQ:VLTC) climbed +10.47% early in the day, though it’s still down more than -70% year-to-date. The mobile marketing and advertising company has been in billionaire Carl Icahn’s investment portfolio since the second quarter of 2013.
[drizzle]Stemline Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:STML) rallied +6.55%, putting its five-day gain at +18.48%. Thomas Steyer’s Farallon Capital picked up a stake in the company in Q2 2013 and as of Q3 2014 holds 95,000 STML shares.
Celladon Corp (NASDAQ:CLDN) gained +6.33% this Wednesday, continuing to rise from yesterday’s nearly +15% climb. The clinical-stage biotech company went public at the start of 2014 and has been one of Farallon Capital’s best investments of the year.
Chesapeake Spinoff Seventy Seven Energy Plunges
Seventy Seven Energy Inc (NYSE:SSE) tumbled -15.58% today, coming down from yesterday’s 21% gain. The stock has declined over -80% since spinning off from Chesapeake Energy (NYSE:CHK) in June.
CHC Group Ltd (NYSE:HELI) dipped -13.81% today – a sign investors weren’t impressed with its latest earnings report even though the company beat analysts’ expectations. A commercial helicopter operator, HELI is down -61.12% YTD. Farallon Capital picked up a position in the firm in Q1.
The share price of Civeo Corp (NYSE:CVEO) fell -11.57% early in the day, putting its one-month loss at -29.2%. David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital purchased 6.15 million CVEO shares during the second quarter of the year and maintained the position in Q3.
