Smartphones have become insanely powerful in the last few years. Gamers, multi-taskers, and even content creators have been taking full advantage of the extra power of their devices. Benchmarking site AnTuTu has published the list of top 10 most powerful Android smartphones as of June 2019 based on their average benchmark scores. Missing from the list are Huawei smartphones.
To rank the smartphones, AnTuTu took the average (not the highest) benchmark score of each model between June 1 and June 30 of 2019. It collected average scores from “at least 1,000 data samples for each model.” These are the ten most powerful Android smartphones as of June 2019, according to the benchmarking site:
10- Samsung Galaxy S10, Average score: 328,846
The Samsung devices featured on this list run the Korean company’s in-house Exynos 9820 chipset rather than Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. There is little difference in the performance of both versions. The S10 received an average score of 328,846 on AnTuTu. The Galaxy S10 features a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display, a triple camera system on the back, an impressive selfie camera, up to 8GB RAM, and a 3,400mAh non-removable battery.
9- Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, Average score: 331,519
The Galaxy S10 5G is the most future-proof device on the list. It will stay relevant as the 5G technology becomes more widespread. It sports a gorgeous 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a huge 4,500mAh battery, four cameras on the back, two selfie cameras, 8GB RAM, up to 512GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for external memory. It’s pretty expensive, starting at $1300 for the 256GB storage variant and $1,400 for the 512GB model.
8- Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Average score: 332,526
The Galaxy S10 Plus running Exynos 9820 processor scored an average of 332,526 points on AnTuTu benchmark. It sports a giant 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, 8GB or 12GB RAM, up to 1TB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for external storage. It’s one of the best Android devices you can buy. It also supports reverse wireless charging to charge other devices and accessories by putting them on the back of the phone. It starts at $1,000 for the base model and goes up to $1,600 for the highest-end version.
7- LG V50 ThinQ 5G, Average score: 340,433
LG’s 5G V50 might not have as good cameras as Samsung’s flagship models, but it is relatively cheaper at $1,000. It runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor with X50 modem for 5G connectivity. The device sports a 6.4-inch OLED display, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, an external memory card slot, a 4,000mAh battery, a triple camera system on the back, and dual selfie cameras.
6- Sony Xperia 1, Average score: 346,054
With thick bezels and a tall design, Sony’s latest flagship Xperia 1 doesn’t look as premium and modern as other devices on the list. But it’s a beast when it comes to performance. It also has a gorgeous 6.5-inch CinemaWide OLED display with 4K resolution and HDR support. The Xperia 1 packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. It also has an external memory card slot. It has a triple camera system on the back, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3,330mAh battery. It has been priced at $950.
5- OnePlus 7, Average score: 363,673
When OnePlus refreshed its flagship lineup this year, the regular OnePlus 7 was completely overshadowed by the more expensive OnePlus 7 Pro. It didn’t receive any exciting design treatment, but there is no denying the fact that it is one of the most powerful Android smartphones out there. It runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset with Adreno 640 GPU. It packs up to 8GB RAM, 256GB of storage, a dual camera setup on the back, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
4- Redmi K20 Pro, Average score: 365,410
Out of the top four most powerful Android smartphones, three belong to the house of Xiaomi. The Redmi K20 Pro runs the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor as many other devices on this list. It features a 6.3-inch OLED display, up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, and a triple camera system. The Redmi K20 Pro packs a giant 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging technology.
3- Xiaomi BlackShark 2, Average score: 366,874
The BlackShark 2 is Xiaomi’s gaming beast with a built-in liquid cooling system to prevent the device from overheating while gaming. It’s powerful enough to play even the most demanding mobile games. It has a 6.4-inch OLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. It offers a dual camera system on the back, and a giant 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging.
2- Xiaomi Mi 9, Average score: 369,572
Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone received an average score of 369,572 on AnTuTu. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 855 chipset and Adreno 640 GPU. It has a 6.39-inch OLED display, 6GB RAM, 128GB of base storage, and a triple camera system on the back. Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 10 skin is optimized to deliver maximum performance. The Mi 9 was the most powerful Android smartphone until the launch of OnePlus 7 Pro.
1- OnePlus 7 Pro, Average score: 371,610
According to AnTuTu, OnePlus 7 Pro is the most powerful Android smartphone with an average benchmark score of 371,610 points. It has a gorgeous 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s the first smartphone to feature the latest UFS 3.0 storage technology. It is equipped with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The powerful hardware is supported by OnePlus’s custom OxygenOS 9.5 software, which is optimized to deliver a blazing fast experience.
