10- Nayara Springs, Arenal Volcano National Park, Costa Rica


It scored 97.04 out of 100 in Travel + Leisure’s survey. It was also voted the best luxury hotel in 2016 and 2017 in a survey conducted by TripAdvisor. Nayara Springs is located atop a cliff surrounded by tropical gardens and emerald forests. It costs around $750 per night on average, though you can get a room there for as low as $630 in October. The hotel has two giant pools, an award-winning spa, a piano lounge and bar, and a private plunge pool. It also arranges daily adventurous activities such as canyoning and water-rafting.

The Nihi Sumba Island Resort was originally a surf resort that was re-opened a few years ago. It has become incredibly popular for its eco-friendly approach to luxury tourism. 8- Temple House, Chengdu, China

With a score of 97.26, the Temple House in China is one of the top 10 best hotels on the planet. It’s built on the remains of an ancient temple that was established during the Qing dynasty. The hotel is made of two L-shaped halves separated by a restored Qing dynasty courtyard. The wood-lined Mi Xun Teahouse is a day-spa inspired by Chinese medicine. The rooms have a minimalist design and architectural elements.

7- Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa, Torres del Paine, Chile

This hotel is located on the banks of Lake Sarmiento, overlooking the Torres del Paine National Park. The rooms have chic wood walls, in-room soaking tubs with park views, designer toiletries, and hand-crafted furnishings. The hotel arranges activities such as hiking, glacier tours, and horseback adventures. It scored 97.38 in T+L’s survey.

It scored 97.81 in T+L’s survey.

The Inverlochy Castle Hotel is a 19th-century baronial mansion set amongst the Scottish West Highlands scenery. All of its elegant rooms and suites offer stunning mountain or garden views. It has three dining rooms, each decorated with elaborate and period furniture gifted by the King of Norway. The Inverlochy Castle scored 97.87 on T+L’s survey.

The Inkaterra La Casona in Peru had the same score as the Inverlochy Castle in T+L’s survey. This 16th-century manor house was the first boutique hotel in Cusco. The hotel has retained its colonial charm while offering the best of modern facilities. Inkaterra La Casona has only 11 suites, each of them overlooking the plaza or inner courtyards. The building was restored before its opening in 2008.

3- Frangipani Beach Resort, Anguilla

It’s located on a white sand beach along the beautiful Caribbean coast. According to Travel + Leisure survey, it is among the world’s top 10 best hotels with a score of 97.88. Frangipani Beach Resort is family-owned and operated, and it has only 19 rooms.

2- Ballyfin Demesne, County Laois, Ireland

With a score of 98.00, Ballyfin is the second best hotel in the world. Spread over an area of 614 acres, it is one of the most lavish neoclassical houses in Ireland. The T+L’s readers have rated it the best hotel on the planet with a score of 98.22. You have to go to this property in the Ayung River Valley via a suspension bridge. The resort has a meditation space and lily pond in each guest villa. It also has an outdoor living room and pool.
