Spotify & Deutsche Telecom Team Up & Offer Unlimited Music Streaming

Deutsche Telekom AG (ETR:DTE) (FRA:DTE) announced its partnership with Spotify to offer unlimited music streaming, by offering a Spotify Premium subscription bundle with its tariffs, as an add-on option during the IFA tradeshow in Berlin, Germany.

According to the company, consumers will be able to listen to more than 18 million songs in their smartphones, tablets, or PCs, both online and offline without impact on their data limits.

In a statement, Deutsche Telekom AG (ETR:DTE) (FRA:DTE) described its partnership with Spotify as an innovative business strategy, and the agreement is valid for one year. Niek Jan van Damme, a board member of Deutsche Telecom said, “Music streaming is the business model of the future, and we are proud to be the first German telecommunications provider to offer our customers the pleasure of unlimited music as part of our tariffs.” He considers Spotify as an outstanding partner for the company to achieve its endeavor to provide innovative and easier ways of streaming music to consumers, without the need for digital storage space.

On the other hand, Gerrit Meier, Global General Manager of Distribution & Partnerships at Spotify said, “At Spotify we want to connect people around the world through music – an ambition we share with our partners at Deutsche Telekom AG (ETR:DTE) (FRA:DTE). In combining Deutsche Telecom’s substantial reach and technological expertise with Spotify, the leading music service of its kind, together, we are able to offer music fans in Germany an unparalleled mobile music experience.”

Deutsche Telekom AG (ETR:DTE) (FRA:DTE) said Spotify Premium is worth 30 euros. Subscribers will also enjoy on-demand and unlimited music in superior audio without advertisements.

Spotify is one of the companies worldwide that has the largest music libraries, with more than 300,000 record labels. The Spotify app allows users to listen to their favorite music and sync as much as 3,333 tracks in three devices with or without internet access.  It has also, an existing partnership with Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), Twitter, and Tumblr.

Facebook users can share to their friends a single track, or a complete playlist of songs they are listening to through the Spotify app.

Spotify also offers free radio to Android users through its new app, which allows users to save their favorite songs
