It seems that Samsung’s budget for marketing has increased over time and that’s why the Korean company is spending much at launch events; first we saw the Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) Unpacked launch event at New York City, then we saw Samsung’s mocking advt. at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), and now yet another retailer-sponsored Galaxy S4 launch party in India, but this time the company went even further and pathetically imitated PSY’s Gangnam Style video.

As we know, PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ has become the most watched video of all time in the history of YouTube, and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) might have thought why not imitate the same and bring out their very own “Samsung Style” in front of the crowd.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, performed “Gangnam Style” as “Samsung Style” and talking about the lyrics,  here they are:

Samsung Style!
If you liked the S3 then this phone is even better!
It has a HD screen and it’s just a lot slimmer!
441 ppi is not just a number!
Look at this clarity, it’s brighter!

Okay, it goes without saying that you need to watch the video and tolerate it to know about the complete lyrics. Singh was not even able to perform PSY’s signature dance move that well. For those of you who want to experience the madness, the video is right below!

Samsung’s retail partner Reliance Digital organized this event, and the company invited many Bollywood celebrities to celebrate the launch of Galaxy S4 in India. This means that Samsung was not in a way, directly responsible for this mimicry.

Will promotions like these really help Samsung to achieve more sales? Well, we better not try to answer this. But yes, sometimes such events cause more harm than good. This year, we have the HTC One as a competitor to S4, but unfortunately, at the time of writing, the One is not available in India right now even though it was officially announced in India.
