Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) put an end to the rumors today, about the launch of Galaxy S4 smartphone by early next year. The company officials posted a tweet today from Samsung Electronics’ official Twitter account that the rumors surrounding the launch of Galaxy S4 smartphone are untrue.
The tweet, in Korean, said that earlier reports of a successor to the SIII (S3) are untrue, and questioned why anyone would want to spread such rumors. Posted in Korean, it roughly translates to, “Please note that some media reported speculation that the Galaxy S ? subsequent models will be released in a simple rumor is not true. … why spread these rumors?”
Earlier Korean times reported that an anonymous Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) official told the publication that the company is “ready to unveil the next GALAXY smartphone, the GALAXY S4, at early next year’s Mobile World Congress in … Barcelona”. According to the anonymous source, the company’s plans were released just a few days after the iPhone 5 launch. Targeting iPhone5, report says the Galaxy S4 will be “more than enough to curb (it)” and iPhone5 “”is seemingly lacking in innovative features”. The report also suggests that GALAXY S4 will be equipped with a larger display. It’s been a trend with Samsung’s new devices, the screen size keeps on increasing. Galaxy Note had a 5.3-inch display when it was launched, then its successor, the Galaxy Note 2, was unveiled with a 5.5-inch screen. The same could be for Korean firm’s Galaxy S-series, where S2 sports a 4.3-inch display; the S3 comes with a 4.8-inch screen and as per the reports the S4 will come with a 5-inch display.
It was a right move from the company to put an end to such rumors, as the company recently revealed its new Galaxy S3 and therefore such rumors will only discourage the potential buyers. The Korean company has already sold 20 million of the Galaxy S3 in just 100 days, launched in May this year. The company which plans to rollout a 64 GB version of the Galaxy S3 sometime before the end of the year expects to sell more than 30 million devices by the year end.
