As if the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3-inch wasn’t enough, the Korean company is now reportedly preparing to launch the Galaxy Mega 7. As you might have guessed from the name, this is expected to be a 7-inch smartphone from Samsung that would be, in a way, “massively” sized.
This report comes from the Chinese electronics certification company website TENAA, where it went for approval, and the device for now is being called the Samsung SM-T2558. This type of procedure generally means that the smartphone will be released after a few weeks or months.
This Samsung SM-T2558 will be yet another addition to the Galaxy Mega series. Because of the massive 7-inch display size, the rumored Galaxy Mega 7 name is justified. Samsung is a company that’s known to break norms, and no other company has ever released a 7-inch smartphone, but it is a tablet that comes to our mind when we hear that it will be 7 inches in size.
Tech specs of Galaxy Mega 7
The Galaxy Mega 7 is expected to come with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front camera. On the storage front, the device is expected to have 8 gigabytes of internal memory with support for microSD to increase the amount of available storage. The smartphone will likely be running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Also the phone will probably feature support for 3G and 4G, namely, TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE in China.
For now, there are no other details known about the release date, availability of the handset, or price. From the leaked specs above, it is evident that the smartphone will be a mid-range device targeted to those who are always in search for a large phone. However, just for a reminder, a 7-inch phone wouldn’t nicely fit in a pocket, so be ready to carry it in your hands all the time.
