Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) came out with two new security measures yesterday to remove defects in the software of its BlackBerry Playbook and BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone, says a report from Nakedsecurity.

Research In Motion Ltd (BBRY) Comes Out With Security Fixes For Z10

The new BSRT-2013-005 will remove the problems of Z10 as well as Playbook along with providing a bundled Adobe Flash Player to overcome any issues.

There are now questions arising over Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB)’s strategy to launch a new mobile operating system with Flash Support when it was aware of the problems which can occur in this system.

Research In Motion Ltd (BBRY)’s Fixes Almost Similar to January’s Revision

The fixes that Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) showcased were the revised version of the APSB13-01, which it released in January.

On taking a deeper look at the solutions that Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) launched for Playbook, it seems that they are same as five months back with some issues handled.

The patches for November and December 2012 Flash were released by the company in May 2013. BSRT-2013-006 was also revealed by Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) to fix problems in the BlackBerry Protect application for the Z10 Smartphone.

Present Issue Involves Perimeter Passwords

The issue, presently, is concerning Passwords in Smartphone when compared to desktop and laptop computers.

The new OS10 of BlackBerry comes with a feature that allows the user to differentiate their work and home lives with the help of “Perimeters”. However, the users should use different passwords to access for the safety.

The other drawback of using Perimeter is that if users use the same credentials for work perimeter, home perimeter and Active Directory Credentials, then in case of any issue all the three will be dysfunctional.

Though there is a rare chance of any such incident occurring, users should consider using different passwords for every different role.

Q10 Demand Better than Z10

Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) has launched Z10 and Q10 smartphone models this year. The Z10 is a full touch screen phone while Q10 is a QWERTY keypad phone. According to Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies, the demand for the Q10 handset is more than that of Z10.

Misek said that, on the second round of retail checks performed by them, they found that the demand of BlackBerry Q10 is high in the United Kingdom. The checks were performed in more than 50 stores, and demand was high with a single exception. He said that the stores received consignment of 24 Q10 phones out of which Q10 was sold out in 75 percent of total stores contacted.
