Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NOK) First Dual Sim Lumia Images Leaked

Updated on

Earlier, there were talks that Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) was preparing to add a dual Sim Lumia smartphone to its portfolio, but now we have the first pictures of the device, dubbed ‘Moneypenny’ and posted by @evleaks. The picture of the alleged device was posted on the Twitter account at handle @evleaks.

Dual-Sim Lumia for emerging markets

The phone is shown with two separate tiles; one for messages and other for calls. The picture shows the dual network signals, which confirm that the phone is dual-Sim.

According to Win Beta, the dual-Sim Lumia would be a low priced device as the home screen showed only limited apps unlike in the high-end Lumia phones. The device is expected to be received well in emerging markets like India and China where using dual-Sim is popular.

The features that can be seen on the leaked picture are MixRadio, HERE Maps, Internet Explorer, photos, SkyDrive, Microsoft Office, Instagram, Asphalt 8 and Vine app for Windows Phone. The screen shot published by @evleaks showed the on-screen navigation control buttons for back, Start and Bing Search, which have been a part of capacitive touch screen until now.

The published picture reveals that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) may not include capacitive buttons on the Windows Phone devices. As of now, there is no set date over the launch of the alleged Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) Moneypenny.

Nokia Lumia 635 may be dual-Sim

Earlier a report noted that the Moneypenny phone could be launched as the Lumia 630 or Lumia 635. However, it’s worth noting that Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 were the second generation phones from Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V). The third generation series of phones include Nokia Lumia 925, Nokia Lumia 625 and Nokia Lumia 525. So, going by the naming trend it is quite possible that Moneypenny would be available in the market as Nokia Lumia 635.

Nokia is reportedly working on two smartphones, Nokia Goldfinger and Moneypenny, out of which Goldfinger is expected to be the high end phone while the Moneypenny is expected to be the low priced phone. Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) Goldfinger would have Nokia’s 3D Touch Technology that allows users to navigate the touchscreen home display without actually touching the display along with flipping and scrolling.
