Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) CEO Did Not Try The Blackberry 10 Device
In a TV interview given to CTVnews in Canada, when a reporter asked whether or not he has tried the new BlackBerry 10 devices yet, the CEO answered that, like many others, he has been a follower of BlackBerry from 1997 or 1998 through, but as of now he has not tried BlackBerry 10. The specific question has been targeted because the CEO has been known for trying new smartphones or tablets to keep pace with the technology
Hastings added that currently Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) does not support streaming on the BlackBerry devices, though he admits that the OS is a ‘unique system’ that should be utilized, but admits that there is not enough volume for entertainment (apps). As per the CEO, Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) devices are used more from a business point of view than from an entertainment perspective. In contrast, users trust iPhone or Android more from an entertainment point of view.

No. Like many people I was a BlackBerry addict from 1997 or 1998 through to the iPhone but I haven’t tried it. We don’t currently support streaming on the BlackBerry, it’s a unique operating system you have to target, and unfortunately there’s just not enough volume for entertainment (apps). It’s a great device for getting work done but people don’t interact with it as an entertainment device the same way they do with say an iPhone or Android phone.
