Pokémon Go has been a super popular game for the past few years, but it has not been without issues. Most recently players have noticed a strange thing happening to the Pokémon Go item shop. Several users have reported missing Pokémon Go shop items from the store.
Affected players have raised the issue of missing Pokémon Go shop items on Reddit. As per the users, many important items that are regularly purchased by players are now missing. The issue was first highlighted by tech site PiunikaWeb.
Following items are missing based on the user reports – 200 Poke Balls, 25 Lucky Eggs, 8 Incense and 25 Incense.
Many of those who reported the issue say missing Pokémon Go shop items may have been a mistake on Niantic’s part. As of now, there are no comments from Niantic if the missing items are a mistake or done purposefully.
In separate news, Pokémon Go got the 0.151.0 patch earlier this week. This update added twenty new Shadow Pokemon, horizontal AR picture functionality, new Egg animation and more. The new Pokémon are Kangaskhan, Diglett, Dugtrio, Rhyhorn, Rhydon, Rhyperior, Murkrow, Honchkrow, Gible, Gabite, Garchomp, Krabby, Kingler, Shellder, Cloyster, Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Hippopotas and Hippowdon.
The update also adds four new “fall Pokémon” to the code base, possibly hinting of new costumes coming this fall. These four Pokémon are Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. As of now, no new assets have been sighted to support these Pokémon.
Other changes accompanying 0.151.0 include a redesigned “Trainer XY sent you a Gift” notification, and Pokémon now are much closer, similar to the distance before the 0.149.x. The new egg hatching animation uses a golden stage with dramatic lightning.
Also, the Team GO Rocket battle lobby will now show the HP of the selected Pokémon. This makes it difficult to select a Pokémon that is already damaged. Also, players won’t be able to use potions or revives on this screen. With the update, Niantic also added the ability to take AR pictures in horizontal mode.
Additionally, the game now updates to the “combat matchmaking service” and the update also fixes scaling and rotation issues. Many new variables have been introduced in the general quest and quest encounter mode, including a new JumpHeight variable in the Pokémon encounter screen.
With the update, the game is now supporting Android Q beta. Prior to this update, the game wouldn’t run on devices with Android Q beta. As per the affected users, the game wouldn’t even pass the loading screen. Now, there are no such problems, and players on Android Q beta can also enjoy the game.
A primary reason why Niantic was hesitant in making the game compatible with the beta build is the company’s strict policy against cheating. Niantic has been known for blocking Pokémon Go on rooted devices because one can easily spoof their location on such devices.
If you are also on Android Q beta, but want to play Pokémon Go, all you need to do is update the app from the Play Store. You can also download it manually from APK Mirror. Niantic surprisingly hasn’t extended the Android Q support to its other apps, such as Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Hopefully, the support will arrive by the time of the final release.
Talking of the last Pokémon Go Fest of the summer (ending August 12) in Yokohama, Japan, players are witnessing Team Rocket’s big boss man Giovanni popping up along with wild Pokémon. At the event, players got the opportunity to catch a shiny Poliwag and a hat-wearing Pikachu, but the presence of Team Rocket’s leader was totally unexpected.
Given Giovanni’s first appearance, there are chances that he could soon come to Pokémon Go. What he will be doing in the game will be interesting to see as he is known for wanting to collect rare Pokémon. This may mean a special event going forward.
Separately, a Pokémon Go gift event is currently underway. The event, which will run until August 19, increases the number of gifts that a player can open and hold at a time. During the event, the number of gifts that a player can carry in their inventory increases by 20, while the number of gifts that you can open each day is 30.
Moreover, eggs that you receive from these gifts will only need 2 km to hatch. However, the Pokémon appearing from these eggs could be those found in 7 km Eggs, such as Bonsly, which is the baby form of Sudowoodo. Since you can’t tell what Pokémon will hatch from an egg until you start incubating, you may have to hatch a lot of eggs and exchange a lot of gifts to get your hands on the Shiny Bonsly.
