Updated on

Yesterday, Apple finally announced the much awaited smartphone – the iPhone 5– that everyone was eagerly waiting for. The official event ended all the speculations and rumors about this device that we’ve been hearing from quite some time. Now it’s time to compare Apple’s flagship phone -iPhone 5 with Nokia’s flagship phone – the Lumia 920. Yes, Nokia calls this “Our flagship Lumia” and this is not surprising once you start looking at its technical specifications and features.

The iPhone 5 features a 4-inch display, while the Lumia 920 comes with a 4.5-inch screen. Nokia has made the Lumia 920 with one of the largest displays in the mobile market, and it also comes with higher resolution and PPI compared to iPhone 5. Overall, it can be said that the Lumia 920’s display is superior compared to iPhone 5, but of course we’re saying this by just looking at the technical specs.

Coming to the storage point, the Lumia 920 comes with a 32GB model only, while the iPhone 5 comes in three variants – 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models. Those who want higher capacity of storage can opt for iPhone 5 because of its 64GB model, but expect to pay a premium for this model. Talking about the RAM, both the devices come with 1GB of RAM.

The iPhone 5 comes with Apple’s A6 processor, and there is no detail about its clock speed at the moment. The Lumia 920 offers a dual-core Snapdragon processor at 1.5GHz. Who’s better and faster can only be compared once some real benchmarking is done.

As you may have guessed, the Lumia 920 comes with Windows Phone 8, Microsoft’s latest mobile OS. Because this phone is not yet available, we cannot come to any conclusion about Windows Phone 8 OS. Also, we expect the iPhone 5, which comes with iOS 6, to run the phone smoothly. iOS 6 doesn’t comes with any major UI changes, but it does comes with improved maps, improved Siri, Facebook integration, Passbook app, FaceTime over cellular, and more such features.
