Initial jobless claims for the week ending 21 were a seasonally adjusted 338k, the U.S. Department of Labor reports. This is a significant decline from the prior two weeks which were 380k and 369k. Not seasonally adjusted, initial jobless claims for the week were 414k.
States with statistically significant changes:
The insured unemployment rate was unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 2.2%.
The number of unemployment insurance recipients, or continuing claims, was a seasonally adjusted 2.923 million, an increase from the prior week’s revised level of 2.877 million.
