Specific Details of the Device

The thickness of Ascend P6 is just 6.18 mm and sits on a 1.5 GHz quad core processor. The phone is cased in a metallic body. The display of the phone is 4.7 inch high definition. The resolution details are not known yet. The phone has an “industry leading” 5 megapixel front facing snapper according to the company.

The device has an 8 megapixel camera on the front of the phone through which one can shoot at an aperture of just F2.0 and a 4cm macro view. The phone has the capacity of 1080p video recording and playback, which is considered to be one of the most important features today.

The device has the latest OS i.e. 4.2.2 of Android, and it sports the Huawei’s custom Emotion UI on the top. The phone sits on a 2000 mAh battery, which is definitely a good one but not the best in class.

Ascend P6 from Huawei will be available in three colors, black, white and pink and the matching color cases will be available for all colors. The phone will be rolled out in China towards the end of this month followed by Western Europe in July.

Richard Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Consumer Business Group said, “Building on the success of our Ascend P series of fashion smartphones, the HUAWEI Ascend P6 provides unsurpassed technology and a design that is simply stunning.”

Much Awaited

The Ascend P6 was, however, announced by Huawei before, and the web was flooded with various teaser images. There was also a post on the web that contained specifications, which was, however, very limited..

Huawei posted a high resolution image on June 14 of an Ascend P6 in black on its Twitter account.

Huawei Ascend P6 Targeting High End Market

In the international market Huawei Technology Co Ltd (SHE:002502) has not been able to garner much share in the Android Smartphone market. The reason behind the low popularity of the phone has been that it targets low cost phones. At present, the high end phone market is dominated by the Samsung Galaxy S3, Note II and the latest one Galaxy S4, which has already crossed 10 million in global sales in the first month.
