HTC Desire U - Comes With ICS, 4-inch Screen & Single Core Processor

The Taiwanese giant HTC Corp (TPE:2498) has announced the launch of a new entry level Android smartphone – dubbed the HTC Desire U. This smartphone is targeted towards emerging markets such as China, Taiwan and other Asian regions.

The HTC Desire U sports a 4-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and powered by single core 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Talking about the storage, the phone comes with 4GB of in-built storage and a microSD slot for expanding the storage and 5MP autofocus, LED flash rear camera.

In terms of connectivity, the device supports 3G, WiFi b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 port and Bluetooth 4.0. The phone runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and there’s no word of Android 4.1 support as of yet. The Desire U has a 1650mAh battery.

HTC Corp (TPE:2498) has not released a launch date nor the availability of this phone. The unlocked pricing of this smartphone is around $275, which is no doubt very competitive. On the downside, many people will find these tech specs on the low side; however,  given its low price, we cannot expect high-end specs, can we?
