It’s not that the days of physical books and magazines are over, but these days, many people read their favorite books and magazines on their mobile devices such as smartphones, iPad, Nexus 7/10, Kindle Fire/HD, etc.
The problem with reading magazines on these devices is that the eBook reading apps don’t have the print option, at least in most cases. So what you do when you want a hard copy of a page? For example; what if you want a hard copy of a recipe page from your favorite recipe magazine?
In short, there’s no way to rip out the page in digital versions. To top it up – there’s no print option offered by the magazine and other eBook apps. That’s exactly where a work around method steps in.
The simple solution to this problem will be to take a screenshot of the page you want to print. Most devices offer an option to capture screenshots.
iPad
On an iPad, you can take a screenshot by pressing the sleep/power button and the Home button at the same time. Now, switch to the Photos app, open that screenshot and tap on the icon that looks like an arrow (the second icon from top-right). This will open various options. Tap on Print and then select your printer and Print.
You’ll need an AirPrint enabled printer to print the page, and if you don’t have an AirPrint enabled printer, then a workaround would be to email the screenshot to your email address and print it from the computer.
Kindle Fire/HD
On Amazon’s Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD, press the power and volume-down buttons simultaneously and you will hear a click sound. The screenshot can be found from the Pictures app and in a folder under that named as “Screenshots.”
Nook HD or HD+
On Nook HD or HD+, press the volume down button and the physical N buttons at the exact same time and hold them for 2 seconds. You will need to hit both the buttons exactly at the same time.
Nexus 7/10
To take a screenshot on your Nexus 7/10 device, hold the volume down button and power button at the same time. You’ll hear a click and an animation. The screenshot is then saved in the Gallery app and a separate folder therein named “Screenshots.”
The same method can also be applied to smartphones and all you need to do is to figure out the key combination to capture a screenshot. So that’s how you can turn a digital page into a physical printed page. Enjoy your printed page, which you can stick on your fridge, cupboard, desk or any other place you choose.
