Well, well, who would have thought that even the mighty Google can do a flat $100 off its flagship Nexus handset. The Nexus 4, manufactured by LG can now be purchased at a reduced price of $199 for the 8GB variant, and $249 for the 16GB variant, an enticing deal. At this price point, the device still offers powerful specs, stock Android and of course, the Nexus brand name which ensures that a Nexus user would be the first one to receive software updates in the future.

Google Nexus 4 Gets $100 Price Cut: $199 for 8GB & $249 for 16GB

This price cut is made available in many Google Play Stores like Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea, the U.S. and U.K. For now, there’s no word on whether the price cuts are coming to other territories or not. Google has surprised everyone with its price drop, as previously the devices were available at $299 for 8GB and $349 for the 16GB variant. A flat $100 off surely seems a bargain price for the Nexus 4, considering that it is still a powerful device and released just last October.

Considering a yearly release cycle, a new Nexus device or at least an update is expected for October of this year. Google might be planning to clear out the stock and make way for a successor. Now that Samsung and HTC too are offering pure Android Vanilla based devices (also known as Google Play edition phones), Google is in a competition with them, but one of the plus points for Nexus 4 has always been its attractive price tag. Last month when Android 4.3 was released, Nexus 4 users were among the first ones to receive the update, a privilege that no other phone has ever received.

The only issue right now is that it doesn’t have LTE, but this is something that not everyone will want. At the new prices, the Nexus 4 is surely a steal deal. At the moment we don’t know how long this price drop will last, or how long the inventory will last. Check it out from Play Store.
