Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge Release Delayed In Australia

Last week, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) announced that it had pushed back the UK release of its Galaxy Note 4 by a week to October 17 “due to amazing response and demand” from consumers. Well, the Korean company has now also delayed the smartphone’s launch in Australia, though pre-orders will still begin on October 15, as previously announced.

Galaxy Note 4 sale date pushed to Nov.5

The Galaxy Note 4 was previously scheduled to go on sale on October 29. Galaxy Note Edge was due to hit the stores on November 5. According to CNET, Samsung Australia has delayed the availability of both devices. The sale date of Note 4 has been postponed to November 5, while the Note Edge will arrive on November 12. Pre-orders for both phone start on Oct.15.

Samsung has already revealed pricing of the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge in Australia. The 5.7-inch Note 4 will cost AU$949 for 32GB version. Australian users will get Galaxy Note 4 with 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, while many other markets will get Note 4 with octa-core Exynos chipset. Galaxy Note Edge, which impressed the crowds with its curved edge display offering a separate interface, will cost users AU$1,249. It’s almost identical to Galaxy Note 4 except a slightly smaller 5.6-inch display, a drop-edge screen, a smaller 3,000mAh battery and a 64GB storage option.

Samsung has also confirmed that many of its wearables, including Gear VR headset and Gear S smartwatch, will also be available in Australia. Meanwhile, U.S. carriers have already been taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 4. T-Mobile lists the shipping date of Oct.17, but AT&T plans to start shipping the phone on Oct.14. Verizon maintains the Galaxy Note 4 shipping date of Oct.23.

Even though the Galaxy Note 4 hasn’t hit many of the key markets, Samsung has pushed out an update for the phone. The 36MB software update will enhance battery life and improve overall stability of the phone. The Galaxy Note 4 already comes with an impressive 3,220mAh battery.
