Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 at the IFA 2013, at its Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 in Berlin. The Galaxy Note 3 is the company’s third generation of phablet device, with a focus on a big screen. From the above specs comparison, it’s evident that the Galaxy Note 3 beats the Note 2 in many ways. It has a faster processor, more RAM, a bigger screen with higher resolution and better camera. All these features make the new phablet from Samsung look enticing. For now, at least in specs, the features look great which makes it a superb device if you’re thinking to opt for a big screen phone with high-end features.

Also it’s worth noting that it’s slimmed down in thickness and lighter compared to the Note 2. Samsung has managed to pack a punch in this device, without making it look bulky.

It comes with Ultra High Definition video capture at 30fps, which will definitely benefit those who want to capture better looking videos from their smartphones. Talking about the looks, then the back features a textured leather finish with stitching around the edges which definitely gives the phone a premium look. We still wonder why Samsung is not in a mood to use glass or metal for its back panel. Whatever the case, the leather back does give it a good look.

The Note 3 is available in three color choices – black, white and pink. Samsung would bundle a security software known as Samsung Knox with the phone. Android 4.3 with TouchWiz UI, and all the regular Samsung apps will come pre-installed.

So is the Note 3 a worthy upgrade from Note 2? The Note 3 is definitely a big improvement from Note 2 which makes it a superb device – it’s powerful, slimmer, and lighter and this is what makes it truly a next generation of phablet. In short, the answer is yes, it’s worth upgrading. The phone will be available in the U.S. starting in October.
