This is an exclusive document which I was kind enough to come upon, which has hedge fund performance for the years 2006-2011. The media likes to focus on yearly, monthly and even daily returns for funds; just ask John Paulson and Bruce Berkowitz. This document has a list of hundreds of major hedge fund, with their performance for the years, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Many of the big asset managers like BlackRock, OakTree etc; have hedge funds, many of which are difficult to obtain information on.

The best performing fund of 2011 was Anchorage short credit fund, a value oriented fund with a 42% return. The worst performer was Plainfield Special Situation Fund, with a (32%) loss.
