Case-Shiller House Price Index Up 12.1 Percent Y/Y In June

The Case-Shiller 20 city house price index increased 2.2% in June, the S&P reports this morning. That increase follows a 2.5% increase in May, and brings the year over year gains to 12.1%.

The composite-20 city house price index level in June was 159.54 from 156.18 in May.

The composite-10 city house price index level in June was 173.37 from 169.69 in May.

Case-Shiller

The composite-20 is at about the same level it was in April 2004.

All 20 cities tracked showed month over month gains in June. Las Vegas has the highest year over year growth at 24.9%. New York has had the slowest year over year growth in house prices at only 3.3% gains.
