Stemline, Chimerix Climb

Stemline Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:STML) climbed +15.19% midday today. The biopharmaceutical services provider, a Farallon Capital holding, has gained +23.78% in the past month and has been generating its fair share of buzz among Wall Street analysts as of late.


The share price of Chimerix Inc (NASDAQ:CMRX) increased +10.77% early in the day thanks to promising data on one of its antiviral drugs and a new buy rating from Cantor Fitzgerald. The biopharmaceutical company is up +87.29% year-to-date.

Taking the third and final spot on today’s list of midday gainers is Castlight Health Inc (NYSE:CSLT), up +6.59%. In the Tiger Global portfolio since the first quarter of this year, Castlight is climbing ahead of its lock-up period expiration, which is set for tomorrow.

SHOS Takes a Dive Following Results Release

21Vianet Group Inc (NASDAQ:VNET) reached midday down -9.16%, its price declining despite the news that it will partner with Huawei to launch China’s largest commercial SDN network. VNET has had a relatively strong year, its price up +6.72% in 2014. Farallon Capital and George Soros have positions in the company.

Empire Resorts Inc (NASDAQ:NYNY) dipped -7.33% early in the day this Tuesday. The gaming and resort management company has declined -36.65% over the past three months.

Finally, the share price of Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc (NASDAQ:SHOS) declined -6.81% on the heels the release of its quarterly results report this morning. Operating income decreased to $5.8 million in Q2, and EPS fell to $0.15%. Billionaire Edward Lampert holds nearly 5.8 million SHOS shares.
