The 13 biggest banks in the U.S. stayed the 13 biggest in second quarter of 2013. Those 13 and the remainder of the top 50 ranked by assets are shown in the below table from SNL Financial.

JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) held onto the top spot with over $2.4 trillion in assets. They, along with Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC), Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C), and Wells Fargo & Co (NYSE:WFC), make up the big 4, which are in a different size class than the rest of the pack.

The greatest move in the top 50 in Q2 was by CIT Group Inc. (NYSE:CIT), going from off the list to number 35.
