The many speculations about how Apple’s hotly awaited iPhone 5 and iPad mini will be unveiled have been circulating around for as long as we can remember. We previously reported that Apple may host two separate events for the launch of  its popular devices, as opposed to the more common belief that a single event will cover both products. As it turns out, AllThingsD‘ sources have also confirmed our theory. The iPhone 5 will be launched earlier in September, possibly on the 12th, although the event has not been announced yet. While a separate event will showcase the smaller version of iPad, the so called iPad mini, sometime in October of this year.

The news bit, of course, is not a surprise, as both products are supposedly huge innovations, and definite cash cows for the tech giant.  Apple settling for one event was unlikely when there was possibility of juicing so much more out of these launches. The comments about the potential of two separate events were made by Jim Dalrymple of The Loop and John Gruber of Daring FireballThis led to news reports from ValueWalk and AppleInsider that different launch dates could be a definite reality.

Apple’s recent big win against Samsung has rocketed the company’s popularity and profile to a whole new level. The tech mogul was not as successful with patent infringement claims in UK, as we have reported in the not-as-cool lawsuit, and one smaller one against the Taiwanese company HTC. Although Apple fans do not need anymore reasons to pledge their longstanding allegiance to the company, the jury’s verdict has made Apple’s products even more authentic, if possible, in comparison to others. And we already know that Apple won the ‘cool’ brand battle against all of its competitors, Microsoft, Android, Samsung, HTC, and Nokia, many years earlier.

Now that some reliable source has finally put to rest some of the speculations about how Apple’s products will be showcased, there is at least one chapter that is closed for discussion in the Apple rumor saga. Not to worry, there are still many other things that will keep the rumor mill churning. Stay tuned!
