As per the images, the iPod is running Apple A5 system on chip (SoC) based on ARM’s Cortex-A9 architecture. It runs the same clock speed and on-board PowerVR GPU as on the iPhone 4S.

When Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) launched the iPod touch, the company said that it has a display similar to iPhone 5’s retina display and this can also be further confirmed from this image which reveals that it has a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, with a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch (PPI).

But unlike iPhone 5 which carries a 3.8-volt 1,434mAh, the iPod touch carries a 3.7-volt battery with 930mAh of power. The battery is slightly less powerful than the iPhone 5 but this may be because the iPod touch doesn’t need to run cellular communications which consume much power.

The iPod touch rear facing camera appears to be 5 megapixel while the front facing camera is a mainly used for FaceTime which is a 1.2 megapixel camera. As we know, the rear iSight camera is also capable of capturing panorama photos.
