During the month of August, the change in U.S. nonfarm private employment was a gain of 176k, ADP reports. This is lower than July’s revised reading of 198k, and is the slowest growth of the last 3 months.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will report its nonfarm payroll numbers along with much more in its employment situation report that will be released on Friday.
The change in total nonfarm private employment by company size is below. Note that only businesses with less than 20 employees are at an employment level higher than they were in 2008.
