Here’s Everything We Know About Elephone S9

After the Elephone S8 become eligible for pre-orders last month, the company began working on its next smartphone, the Elephone S9.

Elephone smartphones are appealing to customers who are too restricted on budget to get Apple’s iPhone X, or Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8. The Chinese manufacturer launched an affordable, bezel-less device that not only looks stylish but also works smoothly. The last smartphone that the company released was the Elephone S8. It became eligible for pre-orders last month, and it will soon start shipping.

However, the phone maker didn’t stop at its entry-level S8. The company is preparing to reveal its next flagship model, allegedly called the Elephone S9. The smartphone is likely to have an AMOLED screen with curved edges and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is also expected to feature a near-bezel-less design, which is not a surprise since this is the year that features the death of the bezels. Spec-wise, the S9 will boast Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC, which is on the higher end of the range. It is an octa-core chip built on a 14nm process and boasts clock speeds of up to 2.2GHz.

50% cheaper than Galaxy S8?

Unfortunately, there is no more available information regarding the Elephone S9. The price still hasn’t been announced. However, it is believed that the smartphone will be 50% cheaper than the Galaxy S8. The Galaxy S8’s launch price was $720 in the U.S. However, in Europe, the smartphone was about $100 more. The Elephone S9 could cost approximately $360 and attract customers who are restricted on cash, yet looking for a high-end smartphone that utilizes various innovative features. The affordable price of Elephone’s upcoming smartphone is not surprising, given that its previous model can be found for less than $240 and is likely to get an even larger discount in the weeks to come.

That being said, we can’t be completely sure whether the smartphone will be 50% cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S8. Still, it is expected that the smartphone will hold a similar price tag to those of other major smartphones. We are certainly going to update you regarding the Elephone S9 as soon as we learn more.
