According to Gartner, Android will soon surpass one billion users in 2014. According to IDC, Android is powering 80% of the new smartphone shipments.
Apple predictive iPhone favors developers
Comparatively, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) would be in a better position because the company manufactures only limited range of iPhones and even though it has compromised the market share, its smartphones are easier to operate in comparison to other OS powered devices. Thus it helps the developers to integrate services like CarPlay that behave in predictable ways, says the report.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) outpaces Apple, when it comes to integrating software on the user’s system. Also, it is a better company than Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in collecting and interpreting the online data, which makes it a better company to make a connected world more useful.
Both the tech giants, however, would find it challenging to offer their customers a smooth and integrated experience, when it comes to car. Also, car buyers will be least bothered if there mobile operating system is compatible with their new ride, according to Liz.
