Specifications of Nokia Lumia 1520

Through Lumia 1520, Nokia and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) have entered the phablet segment for the first time, and it will be the first device to ship with Microsoft’s updated Windows Phone OS, which is equipped with three column interfaces for bigger phones and some other features. Furthermore, the Lumia 1520 is powered by a quadcore CPU for the first time.

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) has added a sleeker, lighter and better-looking phablet to its armory of devices with the Lumia 1520. The width of the phone is 8.6 millimeters, which is again impressive compared to the Lumia 920 and 820 series’ relatively massive edges.

The Lumia 1520 is rectangular in design, but Nokia has managed to keep the design lean and trim. Despite having a 20-megapixel camera, the mount has been aptly adjusted, which only protrudes a bit from the back.

Nokia opted for a dual-LED flash rather than a Xenon flash, like in the Lumia 1020. Color palate for the Lumia 1520 includes glossy red, matte black, matte white and yellow.

Other announcements at the event

Also showcased in the event was the The Lumia 1320, which has a 5-megapixel camera and sits on a dual core processor. The Lumia 1320 has a 720 pixel display and resembles the Lumia 625, launched last year. Nokia also unveiled its first-ever tablet, the Lumia 2520, which has a 6.7 megapixel front and a 2 megapixel rear camera.

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s Lumia 1320 and Lumia 1520 are priced at $339 and $749 (before taxes), respectively. The Nokia Asha Trio – a series of low-cost phones –  was also launched in the Nokia world event.

Windows phone users can now share their photos on Instagram, as well, as the app has been launched on the OS. Another exciting game added was Temple Run 2. Additionally, Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) released its Storyteller app, which organizes photo based on location from HERE map. The user can get to know the exact place where the photo was taken. Nokia discussed yet another new feature called Fastlane, an app that displays upcoming events, social networks updates, and messages all in one feed.
