On Thursday morning, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) released a software update for iOS 6.1.4 for iPhone 5 users. The key feature in this update is enhanced audio profile for the speakerphone.

iPhone users can download this update via the software update section located in the native settings application. This update works for both GSM and CDMA iPhone 5. This particular download is identified as Build 10B350. It’s an 11.5-megabyte download. There were no beta tests for this version.

Two months ago, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) released iOS 6.1.3 to fix a glitch that allowed unauthorized users to bypass the phone’s lockscreen and make phone calls on the phone. There are no other significant iOS 6 updates in the near future. Right now, the Cupertino-based company is maintaining a focus on the upcoming iOS 7 which will be introduced during the Worldwide Developers Conference next month. The actual software upgrade isn’t expected to debut until September, however Apple should confirm the actual release date during the WWDC.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is a tech company that prides itself in developing operating systems and software programs that go beyond user expectations. This is why the company releases updates to fix inevitable problems or glitches that happened during the original development process.

iOS 7 could be a significant upgrade from iOS 6.  Yesterday, we reported that Apple’s Jonathan Ive has plans to overhaul the look and overall design of iOS. This also has some Apple fans worried that it could cause a delay in the release date.

The new iOS 6.1.4 update should give Apple fans something more to enjoy while they’re waiting for iOS 7 to arrive. Unfortunately, we don’t know a lot of the details or what we can expect yet from iOS 7 as we have to wait for the WWDC. Whatever Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has planned for their fans should be worth the wait.
