Samsung Sues Apple Over iOS Notification Center

The patent in question is similar to the Status Bar feature called the Status Bar. This feature makes is easy to access everything from email, messages, texts, application alerts, and weather information all in one location. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) just received patent rights for this particular app in the United States. So far there is no indication as to which particular part of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s feature actually violates their patent. It’s also possible that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) just owns a similar feature. It’s important to point out Apple had the the Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) and Twitter integration first.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) also  recently integrated their Notification Center with Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) on the iOS 6.

At press time, there was no word on whether Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) wants to send a warning to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) or if they want to reach the terms of an agreement instead. Given the company’s history and the current state of relations between the competitors, it’s less likely that a friendly agreement is the reason behind this current lawsuit.

Samsung’s lawsuit against Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) should pick up after the New Year.
