Just as expected, Google has sent out invites for an Android event which is going to be held in New York on October 29th. The invite states that “The playground is open.”
What exactly is Google going to announce is not clear at this moment, but Google has clearly mentioned in the announcement that this is an Android event. This event will focus entirely on Android related announcements.
If we were to believe recent rumors, then Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) might launch a 32GB version of its highly successful Nexus 7 tablet. Apart from that, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) might surprise us with a $99 Nexus 7 tablet, which would be really a deal breaker at this price point. There’s also a rumor of a Nexus device by LG and a second Nexus device by Sony named as Nexus X.
Talking about the next iteration of Android, then Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) might announce Android version 4.2. Just like Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it’s rumored that Android 4.2 won’t be a giant leap in terms of features. Android 4.2 will focus mainly on solving out bugs which users are facing from long time. Better battery life is what many users are craving for and we really hope that Google solves this issue.
Of course all these are just rumors and cannot be confirmed at this time. We will need to wait till 29th of this month to know exactly what Google plans for its Android OS.
