Google Play Hits 25 Billion App Downloads, Offers Discount

Here’s a good news for Android handset and tablet owners. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has just crossed 25 billion downloads from Google Play and to celebrate this achievement, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is offering some heavy discounts. For the next five days, Android users will be able to download apps from top developers like Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, runtastic, Full Fat and more for just 25 cents.

Not just apps, but there’s discount on collections also like 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and 25 top selling magazines. You can also expect discounts on music, books and movies.

This isn’t the first time that Google has slashed prices, but previously when Android Market crossed 10 billion app downloads, the company offered many popular Android apps for a mere 10 cents and in March when Android Market was rebranded as Google Play, selected apps were available for 49 cents.

Google has mentioned that these offers will be available starting later today. Head over to the Google Play homepage each day to take advantage of exciting new offers and benefit from Google’s celebration of 25 million app downloads.
