Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is looking forward to provide 98 percent of the United States population a nearby supercharger station by the end of 2015, revealed the company in their latest update. If Tesla achieves this remarkable number, then the automaker will electrify almost all of the United States in a short span of just 3 years.
There is no other automaker except for Tesla who at present is working on fitting free coast to coast quick-charging infrastructure for its electric vehicle owners.
Tesla plans to offset the high price through free charging
Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has taken up an initiative to put a free fueling station in the United States at its own cost. The company has aptly answered the critics and those who were in doubt over the future of the EV manufacturer by achieving the almost impossible, and last year announced the further extension of supercharger network.
Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) will be able to successfully counterbalance its high price by giving free electric charge to Tesla car owners, which will be same as petrol for other car owners.
Model S will be charged much faster by the supercharger than any other charging stations. The car can be charged up to halfway in just 20 minutes.
Tesla announced the first supercharger in Germany
In Germany, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has installed the first supercharger near the Frankfurt Motor Show, and the company has installed the first one just after two weeks of rolling out its European supercharger campaign in cities across Norway.
The supercharger is meant for only Tesla models, such as Model S, and gives free and fast battery charging. Tesla’s Model S was named Motor Trend Car of the year, and is being presented in Europe for the first time.
“Tesla’s Supercharger network is a game changer for electric vehicles and will offer Model S owners free, fast charging for convenient long distance drives throughout Europe,” said JB Straubel, chief technical officer at Tesla. He added that all superchargers will be installed near facilities like roadside restaurants, cafes and shopping centers, which will facilitate the owners to stop for a quick meal while charging their Tesla Model S for free.
