With fears mounting that ISIS’ presence in the European Union is far greater than previously believed, hard-liners from France to Britain have pointed to Tuesday’s attacks in Brussels as fresh evidence of the potential dangers associated with the EU’s open-border policies. The prospect of Britons voting for a “Brexit” at a June referendum increased in wake of the deadly attacks, fueling speculation such sentiment will spread to other EU member states, threatening the long-term viability of the Union.
