The Galaxy Note 8 has been available for about a month now and developers have already found methods to root the popular flagship smartphone. That’s right; there are now instructions to root Galaxy Note 8 available on XDA. Rooting devices has always been popular among Android power users as it opens up the ability to tinker even more with the handheld technology. Many users will root devices in order to delete or disable bloatware that ships with some devices; especially the carrier-branded ones. A lot of users also root their devices in order to install apps that need root access like ad blockers. If you are wanting to root your Galaxy Note 8 there are a few considerations you should take into account first.
As with any system level tinkering like this, there is always the possibility you could brick your device. For the most part, that’s not a serious worry if you follow in the instructions closely but it’s also not impossible to brick your device while rooting. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. There is also the possibility that rooting exposes you to malware. You’re best to assume that some secure apps like banking apps will not work on a rooted device and if they do just be pleasantly surprised. Both links walk you through the process pretty clearly. It should be noted that the root for Exynos devices can trip Knox which basically means that some Samsung services like Samsung Pay will not work after the rooting process. If you are okay with that then go ahead and root!
