Teens still like and use Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). A recent Forrester Poll reports the social media giant is still a favored by teenagers aged 12 to 17 in the United States. This poll included over 4,500 teens.

Teens Still Love Using Facebook

Survey results show teens are still cool with Facebook

The survey gauged the overall use of social media websites by asking teens which sites they used and how frequently they used the websites. Over three-quarters of teens use Facebook, which is more than twice as those for Pinterest, Snapchat, and Tumblr. It is also more than the total of Instagram and WhatsApp combined.

There have been concerns that Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is losing steam with young people and previous surveys have indicated that. Last October, a chief financial officer claimed Facebook use among young teens declined from second quarter to third quarter. A month later, Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg shut down concerns when she said the majority of US teenagers use the website daily.

Teen usage is still important to Facebook

The teen market is a critical market for Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), especially if the company wants to keep their audience. Despite the numerous reports of teen audience decline, the social media website still vouches it is still popular with teens. The main reason behind the alleged concern is that teens have more options than they did years ago. If teens and young adults are not on Facebook, they are on Twitter or Instagram. Another thing that has some concerned is how teens are flocking to more private social media platforms like Snapchat which allows users to take photos that self-destruct within minutes after sharing.

Last, but certainly not least, some teens don’t want to use the same social media website their parents use.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) celebrates a decade this year and it still remains strong. The website was initially exclusive to colleges but has since grown to become a universal favorite among many generations.
