Is Sylvester Stallone Dead? No, I’m ‘Still Kicking,’ Says Actor

Updated on

Over the extended weekend, the social media was flooded with RIP messages and fans asking, “Is Sylvester Stallone dead?” Fans got panicked when some people started spreading the hoax that the legendary actor had died after a long battle with prostate cancer. Fortunately, many of Sylvester’s loyal fans were quick to recognize that it was the same hoax that had surfaced in September 2016. Now the actor himself has put all the rumors and speculations to rest.

Is Sylvester Stallone dead? No, it’s just a hoax

On Monday, Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone slammed people spreading rumors about his death. A message had appeared on Twitter, Facebook, and other networks claiming that the actor was found dead at his residence. The hoax was traced back to a website that had been responsible for sharing many celebrity death hoaxes in the past, reports The Sun. The same website had claimed in the past that Jim Carrey, Vin Diesel, Jaden Smith, and John Cena had died.

If you are one of those people still asking “Is Sylvester Stallone dead?’, the answer is a big no. He has just fallen victim to a death hoax for the second time in as many years. When it happened the first time in 2016, the actor chose to remain quiet about it. But spreading the same hoax twice is the limit, and the 71-year-old actor is not happy about it. The Rocky star posted on Instagram to deny the rumors that he was dead.

Please ignore this stupidity… Alive and well and happy and healthy… Still punching!

Stallone’s Instagram post also included the images that insisted that he was suffering from prostate cancer, which caused him to lose hair. The pictures are believed to be from a scene he has filmed. His post read, “Please ignore this stupidity… Alive and well and happy and healthy… Still punching!” The actor’s post must have pleased his loyal fans.

Meanwhile, Sylvester Stallone’s brother Frank Stallone lashed out at the “mentally deranged” and “sick” trolls who were spreading the hoax. 67-year-old Frank said in a tweet, “Rumors that my brother is dead are false. What kind of sick demented cruel mind thinks of things like this to post? People like this are mentally deranged and don’t deserve a place in society.”

One Twitter user asked, “Sylvester Stallone died??? #RIPsylvesterstallone ?”. Another said, “Rest in Peace Legend ????#Legend #Died #RockyBalboa #SylvesterStallone.” Yet another fan posted, “And then He gets failed in his Escape Plan. Prostate Cancer Ended The Expendables Finally! RIP Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone Favourite Actor He was!”

A few other were outraged on the rumors. Twitter user April posted, “Stop killing people in social media saying that they are DEAD! Its not funny. Its not time for Rambo to leave us. #SylvesterStallone.”

In 2016, a cruel hoax “suicide” video went viral claiming that Jaden Smith had committed suicide. The Facebook video claimed to show Jaden saying goodbye to his father Will Smith before committing suicide. The hoax involved getting a user’s permission to post on their Facebook profile.
