Galaxy S6 To Feature 4K Display, 4GB RAM And Iris Scanner [REPORT]

Reports coming out of China claim that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) has already started working on its next flagship device Galaxy S6. Chinese technology website MyDrivers.com reports that the next Galaxy S phone will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress next year. Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S5 at the same event earlier this year.

Galaxy S6 to flaunt 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display

The Chinese website claimed that the Galaxy S6 will sport 4K display with 4096x2160p resolution. The phone is said to flaunt a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display. It is expected to arrive with Qualcomm’s 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.7GHz clock speed. The device will have Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB RAM. That’s enough to run 4K video recordings and 3D gaming on a 4K display.

A 64-bit processor is highly likely considering Google’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop is 64-bit capable. The Korean electronics giant has been working on a 4K display, and has said that the technology will debut in 2015. However, it comes with an added burden. A 4K screen will sap the battery juices quickly. It will be interesting to see if Samsung improves its battery technology to power the high-resolution display.

Galaxy S6 to sport Iris scanner

Android Headlines claims that the Galaxy S6 will feature Iris eye scanning feature. The technology was previously rumored to arrive with the Galaxy S5, which turned out to be false. The latest rumor claims that Samsung will add superfast WiFi technology in Galaxy S6. The Korean company has developed a revolutionary WiFi technology  that is 5x faster than the currently available WiFi technology. It is based on 60GHz band. The new technology will allow data transmission at up to 575 MB per second.

Other expected features of the Galaxy S6 include a UV sensor, faster-charging technology, dust-proofing, waterproofing, multidirectional microphones, 20-megapixel rear camera, metal body, and 3300mAh battery. Recently, reports surfaced that the Galaxy S5 will get the Android Lollipop update by the end of this year.
