We have to wait until September for the IFA in Berlin when Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) will officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but there is still much speculation for the upcoming device. RBMen report that the Galaxy Note was leaked as a benchmark. The device was also dubbed SM-N900L and SM-N00S, however these models will sell in Korea.

It’s important to point out that benchmarks can be faked, however this recent one doesn’t show anything spectacular, so it’s unlikely to be faked. GottaBeMobile adds, “The benchmarks show off several features that we’ve heard about numerous times before. Namely, a speedy processor, current Android software and a high resolution display. The benchmarks seemingly confirm a 1080p display for arrival, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at a whopping 2.3GHz, and Android 4.3 though Samsung is apparently testing with Android 4.2.”

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930)’s Galaxy S4 already debuted earlier this year, but unfortunately consumer interest in that particular model has waned. Consumers want more from their smartphones and small upgrades just don’t cut it anymore. Fans are now waiting for the Galaxy S5, but that phone won’t likely hit stores until sometime next year. Can Samsung save face with their highly-anticipated phablet?
Samsung prototype leaks may be a red herring
SamMobile added, “The prototype seems to be an engineering unit and looks far from being final, and is probably one of the designs that Samsung is using to hide the actual design from prying eyes (there’s mention of the design having an “alignment style like the I9100,” aka the Galaxy S2). There’s a home button like all other Samsung devices, on the back of the device there seems to be a slot for the stylus, and the source mentions that a Samsung logo is present as well (though it has been hidden with a sticker).”
