Raul really enjoyed this interview and opined:

This is an excellent podcast with 2 outstanding investment professionals. Paul Sonkin and Paul Johnson present "Pitch the Perfect Investment" Wiley (September 12, 2017). If you ever wondered what it takes to be a security analyst, this book provides the road map to follow for those who are serious. During this conversation, they discuss what it takes to be an investment analyst.

In a nutshell this book and podcast is about how to get a job as an investment analyst/ace an interview. This book is aimed for 18-30 years old for students from Univ or MBA for example who know a lot but how to nail that pitch at a conference or job interview etc.

The book is intended as a structure for highly-motivated investors and not securities specifically but also for debt, real estate, private equity and other asset classes.

When I spoke to Paul about this book a few months ago I agreed this was a vital topic which has not really been covered by any books. I think this job has done a good job at the framework for that. No one has taught how to pitch the stock, which is missing both from academic and the investment world.

Check out their book on Amazon. It is an excellent read and is perfect for all levels of investors.

Joe Koseter of ValueInvestingWorld says:

The hardcover of the new book by Paul Sonkin and Paul Johnson, Pitch the Perfect Investment: The Essential Guide to Winning on Wall Street, has started to ship and I just received my copy in the mail. I started to go through it this morning, and have a feeling it is going to be used in a lot of university classrooms, as it covers all of the main points (how to value a business, competitive advantages, behavioral finance, pitching an idea, etc.) more succinctly than any textbook I've seen. At a little over 400 non-textbook sized pages and plenty of illustrations, it's also something that a class could go through completely in one semester.
