On May 14, Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) has a Lumia event scheduled in London. That particular event will take place in London and will feature the next generation of devices from the Lumia lineup. They also have been enhancing their current budget-friendly Asha line outside the United States.
There is no telling what Nokia plans to announce but it’s possible that it would be a part of their Asha line.
In other Nokia news, the Finnish company recently unveiled a new advertisement that takes on the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3. The ad is called “The Hurricane” and it features someone video taping a roller coaster with the new Lumia 928, Galaxy S3, and iPhone 5. In the video, Lumia’s PureView shows the most clear footage.
It’s important to note that Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) did make one key mistake in their ad by featuring the Galaxy S3 instead of the most current model Galaxy S4.
Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) is a solid company, but no matter what they do they can’t seem to compete with the likes of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). The two latter brands are clearly leading the entire smartphone market which leaves little room for other brands. If the company really wants to make an impact, they may want to consider taking the phone to the next level.
