Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) has signed an agreement with Dreamworks Animation Skg Inc (NASDAQ:DWA) to offer users an immersive, energetic and genuinely thrilling experience. The two companies announced the agreement during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. DreamWorks chief of Digital and New Business Development, Jim Mainard, said the cooperation is not just about doing something well, the two companies want to do something that has never done before.

Nokia And DreamWorks Pushing The Limits of Mobile Experiences

For almost two years, Mainard has been trying to bring a mobile experience that will push the very limits of mobile operating systems and hardware. Nokia App Development team saw Mainard’s vision, improved upon it and encouraged the company researchers to bring it to life. Jim Mainard said the competitive mobile market requires you to differentiate your products. And Nokia platform has the right mix of capabilities.

Hope the partnership benefits Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) which has lost most of its market share to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930). The company is trying to revive its business with Lumia series of smartphones.

The Lumia maker has innovative hardware and great services. Dreamworks Animation Skg Inc (NASDAQ:DWA) has popular movies and characters in its stable that families and kids want to engage – Puss in Boots, Madagascar, Shrek and How To Train Your Dragon. Put them together and something exciting will surely happen.

“Some of the strong elements, for at least the first service that we are building together, will encompass augmented reality with location-based services wrapped around one of our beloved franchises,” said Mainard.

Dreamworks Animation Skg Inc (NASDAQ:DWA) Head of Worldwide Franchise Strategy and Distribution Kelley Avery said that when people engage with DreamWorks’ movies and characters, they just want to come out of the theater and live that experience. By joining hands with Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V), the company can give people deeper experience with its brands and characters.

The app is expected to be launched in late 2013. Avery said, using the app, people can create their own stories and experience their own adventure.
